Energy Information Regulations 2011
The Energy Information Regulations 2011 came into force on 20th July 2011. For further information please click here.
These Regulations transpose the revised EU Energy Labelling Framework Directive for the UK. The Regulations introduce a new enforcement regime of civil sanctions in addition to the existing criminal sanctions, as well as cost sharing. This is in line for the approach taken to the Ecodesign Regulations.
Defra are currently drafting guidance on the Energy Information Regulations, and on the new EU Energy Labelling Regulations (dishwashers, washing machines, domestic refrigeration, and televisions). MTP will circulate a draft of the guidance for comments later in the Summer for publication before the first requirements come into effect.
